In a post the other day I reported that I had been unable to find a source for a quote frequently attributed to Millard Fillmore: "May God save the country, for it is evident that the people will not."
I was concerned that someone with half-decent research skills would immediately demonstrate that I was utterly incompetent. I'm therefore pleased to see that Professor David Parker at Another History Blog has reported that he has not turned up a source either. Whew!
